The Russia–ASEAN Summit to host the Russia–ASEAN Business Forum

In line with the Russian Federation Presidential Decree No. 268 dated 21 April 2026, preparations are underway for the Russia–ASEAN Summit to be held in Kazan on 17–19 June 2026, which will feature the high-profile Russia–ASEAN Business Forum on its sidelines. The event will bring together the Association’s leaders, CEOs of international organizations, foreign officials, leaders of major businesses, and key representatives of the business, expert, and media communities.

“We expect the Forum’s agenda to include matters of cooperation within the EAEU–ASEAN partnership. The Forum will become a strategic step toward creating the optimal conditions for the development of trade and economic ties, as well as for diversifying the formats and areas of cooperation between Russia and Southeast Asia,” Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the Russia–ASEAN Summit.

ASEAN consists of Brunei, East Timor, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, and the Philippines. The previous Russia–ASEAN Summit was held in 2021 as a video conference. The first Summit was convened in 2005. The parties started a dialogue in 1996. Russia and ASEAN became strategic partners in 2018.
